the fascinating world of tango argentino...
The Tango Argentino is the authentic tango, as it was born in the
nineteenth century on both sides of the Rio de la Plata, in Buenos Aires and
Montevideo. The immigrants, inspired by the soft and nostalgic melodies, started
to express their nostalgic feelings in a both passionate and
seductive dance. As opposed to the European or standard tango, the Tango Porteño
is a pure improvisation dance, that leaves lots of place to a permanent game of
seduction and surprise. The music, rhythmic and melodic, is the starting point
of a dance that combines intimacy with a playful game of the legs. The
Tango can be learnt at every age; no music or dance experience are required.
Since 1996, Al compás del corazón works on
the development and teaching of tango argentino in Belgium. Thousands of
students have already been trained by this school, including many of today's
professional dancers and teachers. La
Tangueria is the only tango school in Belgium to propose a full
curriculum of classes, from initiation (level 1) to (semi)professionals (level
6). La Tangueria regularly organises intensive initiation workshops and at
least twice a year a new series of weekly
tango argentino classes for beginners.
